Servings: Makes 12 servings.
Ingredients
3 cups all purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup (1 1/2sticks) chilled unsalted butter, cut into 1/4-inch pieces
1 cup buttermilk
Preparation
Preheat oven to 425°F. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda in large bowl to blend. Using fingertips, rub 3/4 cup chilled butter into dry ingredients until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add buttermilk and stir until evenly moistened. Using 1/4 cup dough for each biscuit, drop biscuits onto baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake until biscuits are golden brown on top, about 15 minutes. Cool slightly. Serve warm.
The buttermilk is for a better flavor, but you can substitute cream or water
Well, i don't really have a recipie as if you wanted biscuts for dinner....but i do have a recipie for Dessert! Ok. You will need:
* One can of Biscuts.
* A deep frier or a fring pan with oil filled.
* 2 bowls
* A bottle cap or something that can cut out a whole
* Something to reach into the frier or pan for safety.
* Powdered sugar
* Milk ( as much as you think you need- if you don't have any you don't have to worry, unless if you want some glaze-you coiuld sub. the milk with something else possibly)
* Chocolate frosting
......................................…
Now, open the can of biscuts. Take each individual slice and use the bottle cap or other to make a whole in the middle of the slice.
Next, roll it out a little to make it in the form of a dounut.
Put in deep fryer. ( be sure to flip them every 5 seconds or so to keep them from getting hard. When done, let them cool off to frost.
If you use a pan, flip every once in a while and remove. Fill it up i don't know, a good guess would be half way or so.... with oil ( i don't think it matters as long as it's vegtable oil or some sub. for that.)
Now, here's the fun part!! While they cool, take your powder sugar and mix in a little milk. Stir while you do this to a thick spread into one of the bowls. ( if you don't have milk you can always put some powdered sugar in a bag and after you take it out of the frier-put the dounut in the bag and shake it for a sweet treat!) After they cool, be creative and ice them nicely and you can add anything you want to on them a good thing to use could be the glaze with some choped strawberries with sprinkles! ( yum-o!) You can even use the choclate frosting and you can add anything. It's great for parties and children!!! I hope this helps you or any others! Thanks!

Our Best Buttermilk Biscuits
½ cup cold butter
2¼ cups self-rising soft-wheat flour
1¼ cups buttermilk
Self-rising soft-wheat flour
2 tablespoons melted butter
1. Cut butter with a sharp knife or pastry blender into 1/4-inch-thick slices. Sprinkle butter slices over flour in a large bowl. Toss butter with flour. Cut butter into flour with a pastry blender until crumbly and mixture resembles small peas. Cover and chill 10 minutes. Add buttermilk, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
2. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead 3 or 4 times, gradually adding additional flour as needed. With floured hands, press or pat dough into a 3/4-inch-thick rectangle (about 9 x 5 inches). Sprinkle top of dough with additional flour. Fold dough over onto itself in 3 sections, starting with 1 short end. (Fold dough rectangle as if folding a letter-size piece of paper.) Repeat entire process 2 more times, beginning with pressing into a 3/4-inch-thick dough rectangle (about 9 x 5 inches).
3. Press or pat dough to 1/2-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface; cut with a 2-inch round cutter, and place, side by side, on a parchment paper-lined or lightly greased jelly-roll pan. (Dough rounds should touch.)
4. Bake at 450° for 13 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven; brush with 2 Tbsp. melted butter.
