What is your perfect biscuit recipe?

I have been charged by my mother to find her the perfect biscuit recipe. The ones she makes don't rise very well and after a day they become hard and crumbly. I'm looking for the perfect biscuit- Nice shape, fluffy, and flaky. Any recipe would be appreciated. What is your perfect biscuit recipe?

Woah your mother's biscuits sound like anzac buscuits they used to send to soldiers(hard and crumbly made it last longer)
