Do you have you're own home made dog biscuit/ cookie recipes?

I just made a low protein, very healthy dog treat for my miniature dachshund. I didn't measure at all, but I can try to estimate for you.

Vegetable dog cookies with beef ';icing';

1 large piece of apple

1 medium plum tomato

4 cranberries

(Note: you can use any fruits/vegetables you have on hand, it doesn't really matter)

1/4-1/2 cup whole wheat flour

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon garlic powder OR 1 clove fresh garlic

Preheat oven to 225 degrees

Rough chop vegetables and puree in blender/food processor (Note: if using fresh garlic, but it in with the fruit and vegetables). Mix with flour (I just added it a few tablespoons at a time until it made a nice dough), salt, garlic and baking powder. Roll out on lightly floured table and cut into shapes.

Optional beef ';icing';

Mix a few tablespoons of beef stock (or any other stock you have) with enough whole wheat flour to thicken it to a paste.

Spread the mixture on top of the biscuits and bake until they're solid and browned but not too crispy.

This made about a dozen small classic dog biscuit shaped cookies. My rather picky dachshund loves these even though she isn't crazy about most fruits and vegetables. Hope you try these and your dog loves them as much as mine did.Do you have you're own home made dog biscuit/ cookie recipes?

There are a whole load of ';liver cake'; recepies on the net. They are excellent, but beware stink whilst baking! Generally a pound of liver, a pound of flower, half a dozen cloves of garlic, mix well in a processor with an egg or two. Tuen out onto a well greesed baking tray and bake until done.

Other options are bran (flaked not flakes) and egg white bakes into a hard bisquit, more eggwhite makes it more chewy. This is good for teeth and large bowell.
i make my pets liver treats. i slice up raw liver with a potatoe peeler, lay the pieces of liver on your oven racks, cook in a hot oven until the liver is hard! my dogs and cat loves them.
I don't have my ';own'; recipes, but I have made up some of the ones that I've found in books and online.

';Liver leather'; goes over very well, but man, I hate making it!
