Quick biscuit recipes?

try the following, more cookie than biscuit





100 g flour, I use wholemeal


100 g oats, the kind used for porridge


50 g fat, I use butter, but margarine if you prefer


50 g brown sugar, or white


1 egg


1 tsp ground ginger


pinch of salt


Mix well together, adding a little water if needed, turn out onto a floured board, roll in balls about the size of a walnut, place on a baking tray, flatten with a wet fork and bake in a hot oven for about 10 to 15 mins.


You can add small bits of crystallised ginger if you like and if you don't like ginger, try adding some dried fruit.

350g margarine


300g granulated sugar


500g s r flour





preheat oven to gas 4


mix all ingredients together


shape in to sausage shape


divide into 20 portions


bake for 10/15 minutes





they do spread while cooking, so dont put them too close together on the baking sheet.





you can add choc chips, cherries, nuts, raisins......whatever takes your fancy!!
2 cups flour


4 teaspoons baking powder


1 tablespoon sugar


1/2 teaspoon salt


1/2 cup shortening


1 egg


2/3 cup milk


1 tablespoon honey








In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.


Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.


Combine the egg, milk and honey; stir into the flour mixture just until combined.


Turn onto a floured surface; knead 8-10 times.


Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with a floured 2-1/2 inch biscuit cutter (I use a large glass).


Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake @ 425 F for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.


Serve warm.

Original recipe yield: 30 cookies


you can leave out the peanut butter if you don't like it.

INGREDIENTS


1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour


1 cup quick-cooking oats


1/2 teaspoon baking soda


1/2 teaspoon salt


1/3 cup butter, softened


3/4 cup packed brown sugar


1/2 cup peanut butter


1/4 cup buttermilk


1/3 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips


DIRECTIONS


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. Stir together the flour, oats, baking soda and salt; set aside.


In a medium bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until smooth. Stir in the peanut butter and buttermilk. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, then fold in chocolate chips. Roll dough into walnut-sized balls and place them 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets. Use a fork dipped in flour to flatten the balls slightly.


Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly brown at the edges. Remove from cookie sheets to cool on wire racks.
Get out your box of Bisquick and follow the directions on the box. They are very quick and tasty.
6oz flour 4oz butter 2oz caster sugar


cream together butter and sugar till pale and soft adde flour a little a time and mix to a dough roll out on floured surface cut into shapes and cook at 200f cor 10-20min till golden remove from oven and allow to cool.
