Taco Squares


1-1 1/2 c. Bisquick


1 lb ground beef


1 c. sour cream


1/2 to 1 c. mayo


shredded cheddar -amount variable, I use about 1 cup


ketchup


garlic and onion powder to taste


Directions:


Preheat oven to 350


1. Mix Bisquick with water to the consistency of chewed bubble gum.


2. Spread (with wet hands) over bottom and sides of a casserole dish. The size of dish is pretty flexible, usually something pretty deep.


3. Season meat with the garlic and onion powder, brown and drain.


4. Spread meat over bottom of dish.


5. Drizzle ketchup over meat (some people use chopped tomatoes instead).


6. Mix sour cream, mayo and a little shredded cheddar.


7. Spread over meat and cover generously with shredded cheddar.


8. Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes, or until crust is brown.

Cheese and Garlic Biscuits





2 陆 cups biscuit mix


戮 cup cold milk


4 tablespoons cold butter (1/2 stick)


录 teaspoon garlic powder


1 陆 cups grated cheddar cheese





Bush on Top:


2 tablespoons butter, melted


录 teaspoon dried parsley flakes


陆 teaspoon garlic powder


pinch salt





Directions:


1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.





2. Combine Bisquick with cold butter in a medium bowl using a pastry cutter or a large fork. You don't want to mix too thoroughly. There should be small chunks of butter in there that are about the size of peas. Add cheddar cheese, milk, and 录 teaspoon garlic. Mix by hand until combined, but don't over mix.





3. Drop approximately 录-cup portions of the dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet using an ice cream scoop.





4. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes or until the tops of the biscuits begin to turn light brown.





5. When you take the biscuits out of the oven, melt 2 tablespoons butter is a small bowl in your microwave. Stir in 陆 teaspoon garlic powder and the dried parsley flakes. Use a brush to spread this garlic butter over the tops of all the biscuits. Use up all of the butter. Makes one dozen biscuits.
Check out bisquicks web site. They have recipes for ';Impossible Pies'; which are like quiches that bake their own crusts. Use a pie plate, layer in cubed ham, chopped broccoli and shredded cheddar. Combine 1/2 cup mix, 2 eggs and 1 cup milk pour it over the top and bake it at 350 for 30-35 minutes. I make them when I'm short on time or when I'm stuck for something to make.
There are other things you can make. I use Bisquick to make dumplings. If you go to their website, they have lots of recipes. Also you can google ';recipes using biscuit mix'; and you will find a bunch of recipes.
